This thing isn't letting me login!
Anyway, I really don't feel comfortable about sharing numbers and info on the specific school I'll attend. I will tell you my LSAT was well below the median of the school I'll attend and that my GPA was slightly higher. I took the LSAT twice because I scored 10 points below my average on the first try. Then I really buckled down, raised my average another seven points on practice exams and then scored 17 points below my average on the second real try. I have reasons for the awful performance, but they're not important. Nothing matters but the score. That meant I had to make up the difference with all the other factors. I spent a lot of time polishing the personal statement, resume, application, and making sure I'd receive strong recommendation letters.
I believe the military background was a big asset. I've had the opportunity to live and work around the world and have been responsible to hundreds of people and literally billions of dollars of assets. I don't see that as a detriment at anywhere but the most liberal school. The military also stresses community involvement, so that was a big plus on my application. As it's been six years since I completed grad school (at night) I got letters of rec from my commander and current supervisor. Any other questions?

CMSgt,

Thanks for the quick come back. Understand and respect your feelings on the specifics. I anticipate I will have some difficulties because of a mediocre GPA (3.21) accumulated over 20 years of on-again off-again college work. I have been polishing and editing my PS and I have budgeted much of this weekend to assembling and editing a smooth on my Resume. I have a former boss, a recent professor and several commanding officers who have expressed a willingness to provide a personal statement. I worked directly for all on a variety of issues over the past few years so they are not writing about a stranger. Your post makes me more confident of the background materials as I study for the December LSAT. Thanks.
